Hitchcock movie poster

This was an assignment for which we had to create 3 posters to convey Hitchcockian elements and arouse interest in the general public. Along with the posters we had to design a booklet showing the movie synopsis and date etc.

Movie poster

this is an alternate movie poster designed for an inconvenient truth. After watching the movie and realizing its message, this image is what popped into my head which i have taken forward to create this poster. The truth written backwards and a bit stretched is on purpose coz all of us dont see the inevitable truth yet and what we do know isnt exactly the whole truth.

Art style stamp design- continued

This crash course assignment required us to create an ambassador stamp in 10 different art styles with one submission for an art style each day. Though stressful, this assignment has proved to be very successful in generating awareness and increasing confidence as an designer. The styles are Dada, Russian Constructivism,Art Noveau, Japonism,60's Psychedelia, OP art, Pop art, Swiss, Post modernism and Kawaii. My personal favorites among these are dada, russian constructivism and post modernism with Post mod being the one i love the most since it implied that we follow only our rules and passion and i relate to that strongly.

Art style stamp design- contd

Digital painting

These are my favorite artists of all time and i tried my first hand at digital painting on photoshop in trying to recreate these famous portraits. The artists are Michaelangelo, Rembrandt, Picasso and Van Gogh with Van Gogh portrait being my personal favorite and the painting I spent most time on.

typography day poster

A poster designed for typographic day. The assignment required us to cut out our own fonts and arrange it and follow it up with photoshop to get a finished look.

Gond Art

This assignment involves our understanding of gond and madhubani art styles and to reflect it in our own style. My topic was the last supper..I have done 3 versons of the sketch ..one is the traditional style, then the indianised version and finally the punk youth.

Lakshman drawing

I sketched out this illustration for a flash movie. Its my version of Lakshman from Ramayana.

Micheal Jackson Logo

This was an assignment where we had to create a logo for Micheal when he passed away. My thought was this ' eternalized in gold ' The man had a heart of gold, a voice of gold silkiness, lived a surreal, larger than life life, so why shouldn't he be carved in gold??

Pushkar website

This assignment had us re design the Pushkar fair website. I have gone with rustic and old age look with illustrations rather than a modern approach to the website.

Adobe Packaging design

This assignment was about re designing the adobe CS4 covers. My train of thought was since adobe is synonymous with graphic design, I needn't bring anything new to the table because the potential is limited only by your imagination in Adobe softwares. So i chose to play on the Adobe logo and go for a very minimalistic and simplified look and feel. I have attached 2 versions of the design and one box with both front and back showing.

Chris Angel hoarding

This assignment required us to create a hoarding to announce the event taking place in Delhi. Extensive photo-shopping have taken place to get the effect and for the typo and Chris himself. I have given 2 options for the hoarding with the orange tinted one being the final submission.

Social Advertising

This was a 3 ad campaign urging to stop littering, urinating and spitting on the street. the only prerequisite was that this should be done in street art/graphics style. All the illustrations and font used is original.

Bangalore poster

This assignment was to create a poster about Bangalore and a city guide booklet that comes along with it. i decided to create a poster showing what sets Bangalore apart from the rest of India and what its 'LURE' is that draws so many into the city everyday

Harpic toilet advertising

This assignment required us to reinforce the brand harpic to the consumers and for this I personally feel simplicity is the best way to achieve this. Just a small reminder as to what harpic can do and i hope that i have achieved it

Kellogg's advertising

This is an assignment given to take forwards the Kellogg's Special K diet which is targeted at exclusively to the female consumers. I hope i have achieved the essence of what the brand is trying to say.

Today's assignment was to explore mandolin art. I chose spirituality as my topic. What you see in these 2 pictures represent my take of Jesus's opinion on today's world.

Ripping his chest open he is reminding us of the sacrifice he had done for us and the 1st circle of the mandolin represents the earth that he gave us; the 2nd circle shows us the complexities of the the modern world and how we are caught up in it. If u notice carefully, there are gaps or ways by which you can escape from it. The 3rd circle is for the things we take for granted now a days such as the flora and fauna, the sky and the sun and even love. Its been pushed to the last sphere now.

I am very aware that the man in the picture looks nothing like Jesus Christ but this is just my modern representation of him. Being uncomfortable with paint, I have used only Gel pens and a few occasional sketch pens to finish the work. I have done 2.. one mandolin circles in colour and the other in black and white. Hope you liked it.

To be a successful creative artist one has to lose themselves I'm told.... but then again to lose yourself you must know where exaclty you stand. I for one have always been downright scared of letting myself go creatively as I believe or rather used to believe that letting out your creative control leaves you in the territory of the insane... and there is no such thing as controlled madness... so needless to say all my assignments have always been done with a thought out plan that are always very literal in its approach.

When I got the brief for the 'say no to plastics' advertising campaign I broke out of my usual mould and thought to go a little surrealistic... do something that i personally would like rather than to address the issue seriously like I always do. So i thought I would do some word play and eventually came with " plastic bags are NO MATCH for reuseable bags" with a victorious reusable bag in a boxer's form standing over a beaten up plastic bag boxer. Its from further development of this very idea that resulted in the now submitted version of 'KNOCKOUT PLASTIC'. Gave a small body copy and chose adidas as the sponsor because of the general theme. Hope you guys liked it.
